How Plut works

Plut is a hyperlocal marketplace that connects neighbors to buy, sell, and trade locally grown produce. Whether you grow tomatoes in your backyard or want fresh food steps from your door, Plut brings the farmers' market to your block.

Every ZIP code has an unlock goal: 20 neighbors including 10 producers from that ZIP on the waitlist. Once your ZIP reaches it, we open that neighborhood as an active Plut hub — meaning listings, buyers, and sellers can start transacting there. The more neighbors who join, the sooner your area goes live.

Your street address keeps Plut genuinely hyperlocal. It lets us match you with buyers and sellers right on your block and confirm you actually live in the neighborhoods you're joining. We never share or sell your address — see our Privacy Policy for the details.

A Producer/Seller grows or makes food at home and wants to sell their surplus. A Local Consumer/Buyer wants to find fresh, homegrown food nearby. You can be both — many neighbors start as buyers and begin selling once they see demand.

Joining the waitlist is completely free. You will never be charged to buy, list or sign up!!! On the free Community plan a 5% split commission is charged from the seller only after the sale! You pay NOTHING until you sell! Elite sellers pay a monthly or annual subscription instead and keep 100% of every sale. Credit card processing fees are paid by the buyer.

Plut unlocks neighborhood by neighborhood, once a ZIP reaches its goal of 20 neighbors including 10 producers. You can track progress on our Growth Map. The sooner you invite neighbors, the faster your area activates.

After joining the waitlist, you'll get a share link. Send it to neighbors, post it in your local group chat, or share it on social media. Every neighbor who joins from your ZIP moves you closer to unlock.
